Why fluorescence
- Both SHERLOCK and DETECTR exhibit collateral activity after recognition and cleavage of a target transcript. This is leveraged into releasing fluorescent reporters.
- No complex parts required - LED, Filters, Microcontrollers, LDRs.
- Detection could be made compact thus ideal for POC devices
- Quickest measurement criteria as it is electronic
